MUNCIE, Ind. – The Toledo men's tennis team saw its four-match win streak come to an end after falling in a close matchup to Ball State, 4-3, on Friday afternoon in Muncie, Ind.

Ball State (8-4, 1-0 MAC) took the early lead after clinching the doubles point with a 6-4 win on the No. 1 court and a 6-3 victory on the No. 3 court.

In singles play, the Cardinals took a 3-0 lead after recording wins on the No. 2 and No. 6 singles courts. Hanamichi Carvajal put Toledo (6-5, 0-1 MAC) on the board, 3-1, with a three-set victory on the No. 1 court over Nathaniel Webster.

Matias Olivero got the Rockets within one, 3-2, with a straight-set victory on the No. 3 singles court. Junior Joshua Mackey earned a 6-4, 6-3 victory over Drew Hayward on the No. 5 court to tie the score, 3-3.

The match came down to the No. 4 court where junior Lucas Britez dropped a three-set match, 3-6, 6-3, 5-7, as the Cardinals took the match victory.

Toledo will head to Kalamazoo, Mich. to take on Western Michigan on Sunday, March 9. First serve is set for 1:00 p.m.
