Toledo begins quest for third-straight conference championship this weekend
TOLEDO, Ohio – Two-time defending Mid-American Conference champion Toledo men's tennis will begin its journey for a third-straight crown as conference play begins this weekend.
The Rockets will travel to Muncie, Ind. to take on Ball State on Friday and will conclude the weekend at Western Michigan on Sunday. Both matches are scheduled to begin at 1:00 p.m.
ABOUT THE ROCKETS
Toledo (6-4) has won four consecutive matches, including a 7-0 win over Davenport (Mich.) on Feb. 26 in Orlando, Fla. The Rockets clinched the doubles point thanks to wins on the No. 1 and No. 3 courts and swept all six singles matchups.
ABOUT BALL STATE
Ball State owns a 7-4 record and has won its last three matches, defeating IU Indy, Indiana University East and Villanova. The Rockets and Cardinals split the series last season with both teams picking up wins on their home courts.
ABOUT WESTERN MICHIGAN
Western Michigan enters the weekend with a 10-6 record after falling to No. 14 Michigan 5-2 on Feb. 28. The last meeting between the Rockets and the Broncos came in the 2024 MAC Championship match when Toledo earned the 4-1 victory to take the conference tournament crown.
