MUNCIE, Ind. – The Toledo baseball team fell in its series opener at Ball State, falling to the Cardinals 12-2 in seven innings at Shebek Stadium on Friday.
Â
The Rockets (5-11, 1-3 MAC) lead 1-0 after four innings, before the Cardinals (13-5, 4-0 MAC) exploded for six runs in the fifth and sixth innings.

Quoting Head Coach Rob Reinstetle
"I'm embarrased of the way the game ended. We had a good game plan to combat one of the best pitchers in the league in Keegan Johnson and we got him out of the game with the lead. The wheels fell off after that and our bullpen and defense just didn't have it. We played solid until those final two innings. Ball State is a good team, but we have to turn the page and get back at them tomorrow."
