YPSILANTI, Mich. - The Toledo men's basketball team rallied late but came up short in an 80-73 defeat on Saturday afternoon at Eastern Michigan. The Rockets (15-10, 8-4 MAC) trailed the Eagles (12-13, 5-7 MAC) by as many as 13 points in the first half but reduced their deficit to three with six minutes to play. EMU thwarted several other UT comeback bids down the stretch to pull out the win and end its eight-game losing streak against the Rockets.
Isaiah Adams scored all of his 13 points in the second half to lead five Rockets in double figures.
Sam Lewis added 12 points, with
Bryce Ford,
Seth Hubbard and
Sonny Wilson each contributing 10 points.
Jalen Terry and Da'Sean Nelson led the Eagles with 38 and 21 points, respectively.

QUOTING HEAD COACH TOD KOWALCZYK
"Jalen Terry and Da'Sean Nelson are both tough covers, but we let them get comfortable early on.
Isaiah Adams getting into foul trouble early didn't help since he's our best defender against Da'Sean Nelson. We had some key turnovers and missed some open threes and free throws down the stretch. We just didn't have that one or two plays in us to get over the hump. We have to regroup because we have a good team in Ball State coming into Savage Arena on Tuesday night."
