Toledo Set to Compete in Akron's Al Campbell Invitational

Field events begin at 4:00 p.m. with running events following at 4:30 p.m.
TOLEDO, Ohio – The Toledo women's track and field team returns to action at the Al Campbell Invitational in Akron, Ohio on Friday. The meet kicks off with field events at 4:00 p.m. and running events at 4:30 p.m. The Rockets will see 14 student-athletes competing at the Stile Athletics Field House.
Last weekend at the Wolverine Invitational in Ann Arbor, Mich., senior transfer Samantha Thomas won the 400m with a time of 55.29, which ranks as the third-fastest indoor time in school history. Senior Alex Bauer won the 800m (2:12.64) and placed second in the mile run (4:47.04). Freshman Gabby Phelan also registered a third-place showing in the 800m (2:15.47).
Junior Laryah Worthy took third in the 400m (1:00.33) and sophomore Lianna Surtz recorded a fourth-place finish in the mile (4:49.88). Karina James earned a third-place finish in the 3000m (9:58.75).
