Toledo to compete in 11-team field in tournament hosted by Boston College in Verona, N.Y.

TOLEDO, Ohio – The Toledo men's golf team will open its 2024-25 season this weekend when it travels to Verona, N.Y. to compete in Boston College's Red Bandanna Invitational.

This weekend's tournament will be held on Sunday-Monday, Sept. 1-2 at the par-72, 7,105-yard Turning Stone Resort's Kaluhyat Course. Thirty-six holes will be played on Sunday with 18 more holes on Monday in the two-day, 54-hole event. Play will begin with a shotgun start at 8 a.m. each day.

The Field
The Rockets will be competing against an 11-team field that includes Boston College, LaSalle, Manhattan, Md.-Eastern Shore, Mercyhurst, North Dakota State, Robert Morris, Sacred Heart, Saint Francis (Pa.), and Youngstown State.

This Week's Lineup
The Rockets' lineup will consist of sophomore transfer Marijn Hoogeveen at No. 1, freshman Bence Bertényi at No. 2, sophomore Mason Deal at No. 3, junior Mads Jensen at No. 4, and junior Arav Patel at No. 5.

Up Next
Toledo will return home to host the Inverness Intercollegiate on Monday-Tuesday, Sept. 9-10. Thirteen of the 14 programs competing in the tournament were represented in NCAA postseason play last year as a team or individually, highlighted by defending national champion Auburn. The tournament field also includes Cal Poly, Clemson, College of Charleston, Louisville, Michigan, Oklahoma, Purdue, SMU, Texas Tech, Vanderbilt, Virginia, and Wake Forest.
