LAS VEGAS, Nev. – Toledo women's basketball assistant coach Jackie Alexander has been selected to participate in the 2024 TopConnect Basketball Symposium, a prestigious networking event connecting the top basketball assistant coaches in the country with mid-major athletic directors.

The symposium will be held at the Thomas & Mack Center on the campus of the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV) on Monday, June 10, and is presented by Teamworks and VanWagner. The 2024 program will be the seventh year of the symposium, which has been held every year since 2018.

"The invitation to participate in TopConnect is no surprise to those who have those who have worked alongside Jackie," said Head Coach Ginny Boggess. "She is a rising star in the profession and we are incredibly fortunate to have her as a Rocket."

In the all-day event, coaches and athletic directors will participate in panels and breakout sessions which include topics of NIL, looking back on knowledge gained, creating and maintaining culture, and roster and staff management.

TopConnect was developed by current ETSU athletic director Dr. Richard L. Sander and works in conjunction with Connected Media, LLC, East Tennessee State University's Doctoral Program in Global Sport Leadership, Teamworks and VanWagner. The three-word mantra of "Connect. Prepare, Lead." Identifies the purpose of TopConnect.

Alexander was hired as the Rockets' assistant coach/recruiting coordinator on May 17. She previously worked the last three years at ETSU, where she helped orchestrate a 21-win turnaround in her first two seasons. The Buccaneers improved from four wins in 2020-21 to 25 victories in 2022-23.
