Rockets Make Trips to Michigan and Virginia to Finish Regular Season

Toledo to showcase at the Len Paddock Invitational on Saturday
TOLEDO, Ohio – The Toledo women's track and field team will head to Michigan's Len Paddock Open on Saturday, April 27, while senior Lou Trois will compete in the Virginia High Performance on Sunday, April 28.
Toledo will send a mix of sprinters, distance runners, and field athletes to Ann Arbor, Mich. on Saturday. Trois will run the 1500m Sunday evening.
The Rockets competed at the Wake Forest Invitational and the Jesse Owens Track Classic last weekend, totaling seven personal records. One of the PRs was courtesy of Laura Nicholson, who finished with a time of 4:11.65 in the 1500m in Winston-Salem. Nicholson's 1500m time ranks No.19 among Division I racers and broke her mark for the top time in the MAC this season. The graduate student earned her second straight Mid-American Conference Track Athlete of the Week honor on Wednesday for her performance.
Toledo set four top-10 program times at the Wake Forest Invitational, as Nicholson's 1500m time sits second, junior Alex Bauer (4:23.32) now ranks ninth, senior Vilde Henriksen ranks fourth in the 3000m steeplechase (10:03.43), and freshman Mercy Kinyanjui is now second in the 10,000m (33:28.22).
Toledo moved up two spots to No.12 in the USTFCCCA #EventSquad Rankings in the 1500m and is averaging a team time of 4:18.48. The Rockets are also No.31 in the 5000m (16:29.51) and No.42 in the 800m (2:09.58) groups.
In the field, freshman Nora Hark is looking to build off her top throw of 38.60m in the javelin last week. Her longest throw of the outdoor season is 40.89, set at the Raleigh Relays on March 28. Freshman Nehemiah Coleman set the program's outdoor season-best in the triple jump (10.40m) in Columbus.
The Rockets will next compete in the MAC Track & Field Outdoor Championships, hosted by Northern Illinois on Thursday-Saturday, March 9-11 in DeKalb, Ill.
