MUNCIE, Ind. – The Toledo women's tennis team ended its regular season by sweeping Ball State 7-0 on the road Sunday afternoon. The 2024 MAC regular season champion Rockets head into next week's Mid-American Conference Tournament as the No.1 seed for the second straight season with a 16-5 overall record and a 9-1 league mark.

Sunday's win over BSU solidified the second outright regular-season MAC Champion title for the Rockets, and was a measure of revenge as Toledo lost to the Cardinals in the 2023 MAC Championship finals.

Toledo set the tone early by claiming the doubles point to take a 1-0 match lead. From there the Rockets never took their foot off the gas, winning all six singles matches in two sets. Senior Sloane Teske knocked off Sarah Shahbaz at the No. 2 court, and sophomore Sanjana Tallamraju defeated Elena Malykh at the No. 3 court setting up senior Cassie Alcala with the clincher from the top court. Between the top three courts, the Rockets only lost a total of 10 games.

Toledo maintained a perfect record on the bottom three courts as well. Senior Shalini Tallamraju and Julia Kuszynski claimed the No. 4 and No. 6 courts, respectively, and sophomore Audrey Moutama ended the match with her win from the No. 5 spot.

Toledo will host this year's 2024 MAC Women's Tennis Championships next weekend at the UT Varsity Tennis Courts, weather permitting. Should the matches need to be moved indoors, the matches will be played at Twos Atheltic Club. As the No.1 seed, Toledo will play No.4 seed Eastern Michigan at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, April 26. The championship match will be played at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 27.
