DETROIT, Mich. – The Toledo women's softball team scored a season-high 14 runs in a 14-4 (5 inn.) victory over Detroit Mercy on Thursday afternoon.
Toledo took control of the game from the very beginning by scoring three unearned runs in the first inning. Two more unearned runs in the third inning gave the Rockets a 5-1 lead until a three-run homer from UDM's Jordan Davis to made it 5-4 in the third. The Rockets crossed home three more times in the fourth before exploding with six runs on four hits in the fifth to extend their lead to 14-4, which held up as the final score and ended the game by run-rule.
Junior 
Kylee Graham (7-5) gave up one hit and one run in 2.0 innings for the win. Junior 
Sophia Knight gave up two hits and struck out three batters in 2.0 innings of work, while sophomore 
Madison McKay gave up one hit in the final 1.0 inning in relief.
Junior 
Eli Enriquez, senior 
Lauren Erickson, and junior 
Kendra VanderLugt led the offense with two hits each. VanderLugt and senior 
Jenna Kroll brought home three runs apiece, while Enriquez had three of UT's five stolen bases.
Rocket Notables
	- Enriquez's three thefts bring her season total to 26, which ranks fourth in Toledo history and trails No. 3 Jessica Lemieux (31 stolen bases in 2016).
 
	- Kroll now has 106 career RBIs which ranks No. 4 in Toledo history.
 
	- Senior Riley Mohr's double in the fourth inning was the 34th of her career which is tied with Brenda Steinbrunner(1986-89) and Lacy LeVier (2007-10) for No.8 in Toledo history.
 
Toledo (21-17, 11-6 MAC) will take the field next Friday-Saturday, April 26-27 against Western Michigan at Ebert Field in Kalamazoo, Mich.
HOW IT HAPPENED
	- Toledo scored three unearned runs in the opening frame.
 
	- Detroit Mercy's Jordan Kavanaugh hit a solo homer to center field in the second.
 
	- The Rockets added two more unearned runs in the third.
 
	- Jada Davis cleared the bases with a three-run bomb to center field to get the Titans within one run in the third, 5-4.
 
	- The Rockets crossed home three more times in the fourth to double their lead, 8-4.
 
	- Senior Madison Mikulski and freshman Maggie Roh each reached home on Titans' fielding errors before seniors Lauren Erickson and Jenna Kroll hit back-to-back RBI singles, and junior Kendra VanderLugt capped the inning with a two-run double to make it 14-4 in the fifth.
