Toledo Falls in Extra Innings at Long Beach State, 2-1

Six different Rockets collect six hits against defending Big West Champions

LONG BEACH, Calif. – The Toledo softball team played an extra-inning game for the first time this season but came up on the short end of a 2-1 (8 inn.) decision against defending Big West Champion Long Beach State.

Toledo had a chance to score the go-ahead run in the eighth when Lexi Eckman advanced to third base following a sacrifice bunt but couldn't capitalize. The Beach's Carly Robbins singled to left field in the bottom of the frame to score the game-winning run.

Junior Sophia Knight (5-4) yielded just five hits in 7.1 innings with both of the runs she allowed being unearned in the loss.

Six different Rockets registered a hit with junior Eli Enriquez accounting for UT's lone run with a sacrifice fly.
