Toledo to Visit Ball State and Western Michigan This Weekend

Rockets facing Cardinals on Friday and Broncos on Sunday in season's final two road matches
TOLEDO, Ohio – The Toledo men's tennis team will play its final two road matches of the regular season this week, visiting Ball State in Muncie, Ind. on Friday, March 29 and Western Michigan in Kalamazoo, Mich. on Easter Sunday.
The Rockets (8-9, 3-2 MAC) defeated the Cardinals, 4-3, on March 15 and fell to the Broncos, 4-3, on March 17 earlier this season. The top four men's teams will punch their ticket to the 2024 Mid-American Conference Tournament on April 20-21 in Toledo, Ohio. The Rockets sit in fourth place behind No. 1 Northern Illinois (15-3, 4-1 MAC), No. 2 WMU (12-4, 4-1 MAC), and No. 3 BSU (9-7, 3-2 MAC).
Last Time on the Court
Toledo had its eight-match road winning streak in MAC play snapped by Northern Illinois last Sunday, falling 6-1 to the Huskies after defeating UIC 4-3 on Friday. Freshman Poonthong Komolpisut had the most success last weekend, going 2-0 from the No. 5 singles court. Komolpisut, junior Hanamichi Carvajal, and sophomore Matias Olivero are all 4-1 in conference play this season, and Carvajal has a team-high 11-3 record this spring.
About Ball State
Ball State won back-to-back matches last weekend at Buffalo and upset Western Michigan at home. The Cardinals are 4-2 on their home court this season and have won their last two at the Cardinal Creek Tennis Center.
About Western Michigan
Western Michigan suffered its first conference loss and saw its 10-match winning streak ended by BSU last Sunday. The Broncos are 7-0 at home this season, and its last loss at home was to the Rockets in the MAC Tournament final on April 23, 2022.
