ATHENS, Ohio – The Toledo women's swimming & diving team opened Day One of the 2024 Mid-American Conference Championships with seventh-place finishes in the 200 medley and 800 freestyle relays on Wednesday evening in Ohio's Aquatic Center.
In the first event of the 2024 championships, Toledo's 200 medley relay team of
Leah Evans,
Lauren Kilgore,
Sydney Conrad, and
Kennedy Lovell finished seventh with a time of 1:40.73. It was Toledo's the second-fastest time this season and beat last year's seventh-place 200 medley relay time by exactly four seconds (1:44.73).
Toledo capped the opening day with a seventh-place finish in the 800 freestyle relay, swam by
Janne Slegers, Lovell,
Molly Pressler, and
Nejla Karic. The Rockets beat its season-best time by two seconds, for a final time of 7:27.12.
Competition continues Thursday at 10:00 a.m. with prelims, followed by five championship events beginning at 6:00 p.m. with the 500 freestyle.
