MURRAY, Ky. – The Toledo softball team ended its weekend with an 8-0 (5 inn.) defeat to IUPUI on the final day of Murray State's Velvet Milkman Classic on Sunday afternoon, evening the score after losing to Toledo on Friday. Toledo (5-3) finished with a 3-2 record in the weekend tournament.
The Jaguars scored once in the opening frame, exploded with five runs in the third inning, and brought around two more in the fifth to secure the run-rule victory on Sunday. The Rockets had just two hits, singles by junior
Eli Enriquez and senior
Madison Mikulski.Â
Sophomore
Madison McKay took the loss in her first appearance in the circle this season, giving up five hits and four earned runs in 3.0 innings of work. Junior
Kylee Graham came in as relief in the fourth inning, allowing two hits and one earned run in 1.2 innings.
For the weekend, Enriquez connected on a team-high 10 hits, including two triples and three stolen bases. Graduate student

Kendra VanderLugt each drove in three runs, while senior
Jenna Kroll had five hits with three doubles. Junior
Sophia Knight allowed just two earned runs and struck out 22 batters in 21.2 innings of work.
Toledo next will head out to Phoenix, Ariz. on March 1-3 for Grand Canyon's three-day Purple Classic.
