ALLENDALE, Mich. // AKRON, Ohio – The Toledo women's track and field team wrapped up its first indoor meets of the 2024-25 season at the Grand Valley Holiday Open in Allendale, Mich. and the Haynes Lancaster Open in Akron, Ohio on Friday.
Senior transfer
Samantha Thomas had a strong outing in her first meet as a Rocket at the Haynes Lancaster Open. Thomas placed second in the 200m with a time of 24.69, third in the 400m with a final mark of 55.81 and helped the 4x400m relay team take fourth with a time of 4:02.99.
Freshmen
Hailey Slagle,
Chloe Pyles and
Addison Lee made their Toledo debuts on Friday at the Haynes Lancaster Open. Slagle competed in the 60m while Pyles saw action in the triple jump and long jump. Lee took part in the long jump and the 60m.
Also in Akron, transfer Haley Livingston placed fourth in the long jump with a distance of 5.50m while junior
Khamani Jones took fifth in the 60m with a time of 7.85.
Sydney Caddell set a personal best with a final mark of 8.04 in the 60m.
At the Grand Valley State Holiday Open, freshman
Gabby Phelan competed for the first time as a Rocket and took second in the mile run with a time of 4:54.79.
Bailey Ranta followed right behind, placing third.
Alex Bauer took home fourth in the 3000m invite, clocking a final time of 9:40.15.
Aubrey Duhaime was the second Rocket to cross the finish line in the 3000m, taking 10
th with a time of 9:53.71.
UP NEXT
Toledo will return to action after the New Year, competing at the Al Campbell Invitational in Akron, Ohio on Jan. 11, 2025.
