TOLEDO, Ohio – Toledo football wide receiver
Jerjuan Newton was voted the "Ironman of the Game," presented by Iron Workers Local Union No. 55 for his performance against Bowling Green on Oct. 26.
Newton pulled in nine receptions and totaled 164 receiving yards, both career bests. The senior tallied two touchdown catches which brought his career total to 31, setting a new program record.
The St. Petersburg, Fla. native was voted as the Ironman by fans on X/Twitter. Also considered were linebacker
Daniel Bolden (10 tackles, 1.5 tackles for loss), wide receiver
Junior Vandeross III (11 receptions, 106 yards) and placekicker
Dylan Cunanan (2-for-2 field goals, 54 long, 8 pts.).
Toledo (5-3, 2-2 MAC) will take on Eastern Michigan in Ypsilanti, Mich. on Saturday, Nov. 2. Kickoff is set for noon on ESPNU.
