TOLEDO, Ohio –
Emily Mann scored her first goal as a Rocket, but a second-half goal by Loyola Chicago would be enough to end the game in a 2-1 decision, handing the Toledo women's soccer team its first loss this season.
Loyola Chicago took a 1-0 lead over Toledo into halftime until Mann's shot from the top of the box tied the game 1-1 in the 46
th minute. The Ramblers took back the lead in the 73
rd minute and held off the Rockets until the final buzzer to leave with a 2-1 win.
"I thought we played the best half we have played so far in the first half," head coach
Mark Batman said. "We got back into some habits we've been trying to correct in the second half, so our goal is now to play a complete game. I thought we were great in the second half of UIC and a great first half today, so that's what we're building on as we are capable of more. Great opportunity for us on Sunday and that's our focus now."
