Paige Dornheggen makes seven saves against Broncos

TOLEDO, Ohio – The Toledo women's soccer team was even at halftime, but three goals early in the three half was the difference in a 3-0 defeat to two-time defending Mid-American Conference champion Western Michigan at Paul Hotmer Field on Friday night.

The Rockets (5-3-2, 1-1-1 MAC – 4 pts.) were even with the Broncos (4-2-4, 2-0-1 MAC – 7 pts.) until the 47th minute, when Western Michigan struck for three goals in a span of seven minutes. The defeat snapped a three-match unbeaten streak for Toledo.

The Broncos led 15-1 in shots and 8-0 in corner kicks. Paige Dornheggen made seven saves on the evening.

"Lots to learn from in that game. Western is one of the best teams in the conference every single season and we're still learning what it takes to consistently compete in the MAC every day. We won't let tonight define our MAC season. We'll learn from it and we'll move on."
