Paige Dornheggen Earns MAC Scholar-Athlete of the Week Honors

TOLEDO, Ohio – The Mid-American Conference has named Toledo junior goalkeeper Paige Dornheggen the MAC Female Scholar-Athlete of the Week, the league office announced on Thursday.

Dornheggen comes off a week with two shutouts and 12 total saves, leading Toledo to a 1-0 win over Kent State and a 0-0 draw with Buffalo.

The Cincinnati native made a career-high eight stops against the Golden Flashes, with five saves coming in the second half. She then followed that up with four more stops on Sunday against the Bulls. Toledo secured its first win over Kent State since 2015 and first point against Buffalo since 2021 behind Dornheggen's efforts.

In addition to the scholar-athlete distinction, Dornheggen was also named the MAC Goalkeeper of the Week. She earned both weekly conference honors for the first time in her career.

The MAC Scholar-Athlete of the Week is presented to one male and one female student-athlete each week who has at least a 3.0 cumulative GPA and an exemplary performance in that week's athletic competition.

Dornheggen holds a 3.92 GPA and is majoring in finance.

Toledo (5-2-2, 1-0-1 MAC) faces Western Michigan on Friday, Sept. 25 at Paul Hotmer Field. The match begins at 7:00 p.m.
