Toledo's defense allows just four shots on goal and no corner kicks

BUFFALO, N.Y. – The Toledo women's soccer team played another strong defensive match against a quality MAC opponent, taking a point in the road conference opener with a 0-0 draw against Buffalo at Broadview Stadium on Sunday.

The Rockets (5-2-2, 1-0-1 MAC – 4 PTS) held the Bulls (4-2-3, 1-0-1 MAC – 4 PTS) to just four shots on goal and without a corner kick for the entire match. Toledo generated several offensive opportunities in the second half, but was unable to find the match winner. The Rockets have five clean sheets in nine matches this season, including four-straight road shutouts.

The Rockets' undefeated start through two conference matches is its first such MAC start in five years. Toledo also earned its first point against Buffalo since 2021.

Buffalo led in overall shots, 14-9, while shots on goal were even, 4-4. Toledo had all three corner kicks in the match. Paige Dornheggen finished with two clean sheets for the week, with 12 saves in total.
