Rockets Celebrate Senior Day with Doubleheader Sweep Over WMU

Toledo posts pair of walk-off 3-2 victories over Broncos

TOLEDO, Ohio – The Toledo softball program sent its seniors out with a bang at Scott Park on Saturday afternoon with a pair of come-from-behind walk-off victories over Western Michigan in the season finale for both teams. The two wins evened the Rockets' record in Mid-American Conference play at 14-14.

Riley Mohr blasted a game-winning homer over the left-field fence in the opener to give the Rockets (21-25) a 3-2 (8 inn.) triumph over the Broncos (17-28, 11-14 MAC). Aubrey Reed provided the heroics in the second game when she sent a deep fly ball to left center for a base hit to score Leah Munson with the winning run in another 3-2 win.

Erin Hunt (12-14) picked up the victory for Toledo in Game Two. In her final game as a Rocket, she allowed just two hits and fanned seven batters in a complete-game victory.  She finished her UT career ranked second in program history with 632 strikeouts and third with 59 wins.

Sophia Knight (9-9) earned the win in Game One by yielding two runs in seven innings.

Aleah Marra, Macey Moore, and Reed each collected three hits to lead Toledo offensively in the doubleheader.
