Toledo Hits the Road to Buffalo for Weekend Series

Rockets and Bulls will play one game on Friday and a doubleheader on Saturday at D’Youville Dobson Softball Field

TOLEDO, Ohio – The Toledo softball team continues Mid-American Conference play this weekend as it heads to Buffalo, N.Y. for a three-game series with Buffalo this Friday-Saturday, March 24-25.

About the Rockets (9-12, 2-1 MAC)
  • Toledo opened conference play winning two of three games vs. Bowling Green in its annual Battle of I-75 series presented by Cooper Tires.
  • The Rockets swept the doubleheader on Friday, but fell in the series finale on Sunday evening at the Total Sports-Rossford indoor facility. Collectively, the Rockets hit .352 and had a .477 slugging percentage against BG. Riley Mohr hit one home run and Anna Dixon had a triple in the series.
  • Dixon was named MAC Payer of the Week on Tuesday, after hitting .636 with one triple, two doubles, and six RBIs against BG last weekend.
  • Erin Hunt pitched 10.0 innings over the weekend to put her at 556.2 IP in her career, and is 0.8 IP from matching with Amy Wade (1993-97) who is No.10 in Toledo program history with 557 career IP.
About Buffalo (6-18, 0-0 MAC)
  • Buffalo lost both games of its doubleheader vs. St. Bonaventure on Tuesday afternoon, 3-0 and 6-1.
  • The Bulls are hitting .204 this season and are led by senior Alexis Lucyshyn who has a .293 average with 22 hits, seven doubles, three homers, and nine RBIs. Lucyshyn has also been a leader on the pitching mound for the Bulls, compiling 80 strikeouts in 69.2 innings and two shutouts.
  • This weekend's series will be the first conference series of the year for the Bulls.
On Deck
Toledo will stay on the road for its next series, heading down to Oxford, Ohio on Tuesday-Wednesday, March 28-29. The Rockets and Redhawks will play one game Wednesday evening followed by a doubleheader Thursday afternoon at the Miami Softball Stadium.
