Junior Angel Hii tied for fourth at two-under to help Rockets tie for fourth-best round in program history
LAKEWOOD RANCH, Fla. – The Toledo women's golf team opened its spring season on Monday with one of the best performances in program history. UT carded a two-under par 286 in today's opening round, a mark that is tied for fourth-best ever by a Rocket squad and helped them to a third-place standing after 36 holes.
"Everyone played very simple golf today," Head Coach Jenny Coluccio said about all five Rockets who finished in the Top 20 after 36 holes. "No one got too high or low in their emotions. They came out different today then we ever have so far. They have a higher level of trust in what they do and the results showed it."
Junior Angel Hii paced the Rockets with identical one-under par 71s in each round and is tied for fourth place in the individual standings at two-under par 142.
Sophomore Yedam Lee is tied for 12th place at one-over par 145 (72-73) with her even-par 72 this morning a shot lower than her previous career best. Senior Amelia Lee is tied for 15th place at two-over par 146 (73-73).
Juniors Macy Hanus (72-75) and Cheryl Hong (71-76) are tied for 17th place at three-over par 147. Hong's one-under 71 in the opening round topped her career best by two strokes.
The tournament's final round will be held tomorrow with tee times beginning at 10:00 a.m.
