COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Toledo men's tennis team put up a fight in Columbus, but came up short in a 0-4 defeat to the No. 2 Ohio State University Thursday night at the Ty Tucker Tennis Center.

Al Wermer said. "We showed great resilience – largely playing better and more confidently as the match progressed. This will help us."
Ohio State (4-0) got off to a big start winning the doubles team point, sweeping the No. 3 and No. 2 courts by 6-0 decisions.
Pawit Sornlaksup and
Krzysztof Wetoszka were trailing Andrew Lutschaunig with James Trotter on the top court, 2-3, before the match was ruled unfinished.
The Buckeyes captured the No. 6 singles court in two sets over
Vlad Meluta, followed by an even closer two-set decision from the No. 2 court over Wetoszka. OSU's James Trotter claimed the final singles court for the Buckeyes over
Adam Kovac at the No. 3 court, 6-3, 6-4.
At the No. 1 court, Sornlaksup dropped his first set to Cannon Kingsley and was tied 4-4 in the second set before the match was called.
Marko Galic (No.4) and
Luis Kleinschnitz (No. 5) were both trailing 2-5 in the second set of their respective courts before the matches were also ruled unfinished.
Toledo (1-2, 0-0 MAC) will be back on the court next Friday, Jan. 27 when it welcomes Youngstown State to Shadow Valley Tennis Club.
