Rockets to Open 2022-23 Season at Island Resort Intercollegiate

TOLEDO, Ohio - The Toledo men's golf team is heading north to Michigan's Upper Peninsula on Labor Day weekend to open its 2022-23 season. The Rockets will be competing in the Island Resort Intercollegiate in Harris, Mich. on Sunday-Monday, Sept. 4-5.
The tournament will be held at the par-72, 7,375-yard Sage Run Golf Club in Harris, Mich. with tee times starting at 7:40 a.m. for Sunday's 36 holes and Monday's 18 holes. Live scoring will be available at golfstat.com.
The Field
Toledo is a part of a 12-team field that includes Power Five schools Kentucky and Michigan as well as fellow Mid-American Conference members Bowling Green and Miami. Also participating are Green Bay, Illinois State, North Dakota State, Southern Illinois, Valparaiso, NCAA Division II Northern Michigan and the host Jackrabbits.
This Week's Lineup
The Rockets' lineup will include senior NJ Botha at No. 1, junior Barend Botha at No. 2, junior Jamie Tofte Nielsen at No. 3, senior Palmer Yenrick at No. 4, and senior Michael Terblanche at No. 5. Freshman Bence Kotel is competing as an individual.
Botha paced the Rockets last year with a 72.5 stroke average on his way to earning First-Team All-MAC honors for a second-straight season. Nielsen posted a 73.5 scoring mark last year, was a Second-Team All-MAC honoree and tied for first place at the 2022 MAC Championships.

Toledo has a quick turnaround and will be back in action next weekend when it travels to Independence, Minn. to compete in Minnesota's Gopher Invitational on Sunday-Monday, Sept. 11-12.
