Toledo Welcomes Miami, Bowling Green This Week

TOLEDO, Ohio – The Toledo women's tennis team will look to maintain its perfect home record as it welcomes Miami and Bowling Green to the Glass City this Thursday and Saturday. Both matches are scheduled for 1:00 p.m. start times at the UT Varsity Tennis Courts. In case of inclement weather on either day, the matches would be moved indoors to Twos Athletic Club.
Saturday's match will be streamed live on ESPN3 if it is played outdoors. The match can also be seen locally on BCSNÂ on a tape-delay basis.
Toledo (14-4, 4-1 MAC) has won its last 12 home matches dating back to April 9, 2021.
This will be Toledo's first of two matchups with Miami and BG. Toledo will travel to Oxford, Ohio on Friday, April 15, and then down I-75 to Bowling Green in the regular season finale on Sunday, April 24.
Last Time on the Court
Toledo went a combined 2-0 over the weekend, defeating Buffalo 4-3 on the road and adding a 6-1 triumph over Western Michigan at home. Sophomore Cassie Alcala picked up her seventh and eight straight singles match victories from the No. 1 court over the weekend and is 17-1 overall this season with a 5-0 record against conference opponents. Alcala clinched the match point for the Rockets at Buffalo on April 1, while senior Eileen Carney clinched the match point in the Rockets' home victory to WMU on April 3. Carney, Alcala, junior Sloane Teske and sophomore Shalini Tallamraju all went 2-0 over the weekend.
Alcala's efforts earned her MAC Singles Player of the Week honors.

Miami (11-8, 5-0 MAC) had back-to-back match victories over the weekend defeating NIU 5-2 and EMU 4-3 to extend its win-streak to four matches.
About Bowling Green
Bowling Green (4-12, 1-4) dropped its fourth straight match in a 6-1 fall to Western Michigan on April 1. Despite the team's outcomes, the Falcons' No. 1 doubles team of Selina Karg and Hannah Neuman earned MAC Doubles Team of the Week honors. The duo went 2-0 over their Western Michigan and Buffalo opponents, and share a 3-1 record together.
BG will play Ball State on Friday before coming up to Toledo on Sunday for a 1:00 p.m. match.
