Toledo Closes Out Regular Season at Three Separate Meets

TOLEDO, Ohio – The Toledo women's track & field team will compete in three separate events this weekend to close out the outdoor season prior to the Mid-American Conference Championships in two weeks. The Rockets will compete in the Penn Relays in Philadelphia, Pa., the WMU Jack Shaw Invitational in Kalamazoo, Mich., and the UNF Invite in Jacksonville, Fla.
Sophomore Lou Trois will run in the 1500m at the Penn Relays on Thursday, April 28.
Fourteen Rockets will be competing on Friday-Saturday, April 29-30 at the WMU Jack Shaw Invitational. Field events begin Friday at 10:00 a.m., while running events will take place Saturday at 1:00 p.m.
Six Rockets will travel south to compete in the UNF Invitational. Friday's field events begin at 3:00 p.m. followed by running events at 7:00 p.m. Saturday's field events begin at 11:00 a.m and end with running events at noon.
Last Time Out
Toledo's distance runners competed in the Virginia Challenge last weekend, where junior Faith Linga produced a second-place finish in the 10,000m race with the third-best program time of 33:49.76. Senior Semra Karaslan also took second in the 3000m Steeplechase (10:05.94), while sophomore Lou Trois took third in the 1500m (4:21.56). Five total Rockets posted personal-best times over the two-day invitational.
