SOUTH BEND, Ind. – The Toledo softball team closed out its non-conference schedule at No. 20 Notre Dame with an 8-0 (5 inn.) defeat Tuesday evening at Melissa Cook Stadium.

Denner drew two of UT's five walks to give her 20 for the season and 64 in her career.
The Rockets threatened with two runners in scoring position in each of the first and second innings but could not drive any runners home.
Notre Dame's Alexis Holloway picked up the win, allowing just two hits through 3.0 innings of work and striking out four batters.
The Midnight Blue and Gold will stay on the road for its next and final road series this season, traveling to Northern Illinois on Friday-Saturday, April 29-30 in DeKalb, Ill.
How it happened
- Notre Dame crossed home twice in the bottom of the first. Leea Hanks hit an RBI double and later scored from third when Karina Gaskins was caught in a rundown attempting to steal second.
- Toledo threatened with two runners in scoring position with no outs in the second, but went down with a strikeout, a sac bunt and a strikeout.
- The Fighting Irish extend their lead to 6-0 in the second on an RBI single followed by a three-run homer by Gaskins.
- Notre Dame tacked on two final runs in the fourth, when Abby Sweet stole home and Jane Kronenberger hit an RBI double to the warning track to make it an 8-0 ballgame.
