Toledo Welcomes Kent State for Weekend Series

TOLEDO, Ohio – The Toledo softball team welcomes Mid-American Conference rival Kent State to Scott Park for a three-game series this weekend. The Rockets will open the series with a doubleheader on Saturday, April 23 at 1:00 p.m. followed by a single game on Sunday, April 24 at noon. All games in the series will be streamed live on ESPN3 and can be watched locally on BCSN.

Last Time Out
Kent State lost both ends of a doubleheader vs. Ohio on Wednesday, after the series opener was canceled on Tuesday. The Golden Flashes lost 7-6 in the opener followed by a 7-0 shutout to close the series. In the first game on Wednesday, sophomore Emily Lippe drove in a run to tie the game at 5-5, and had one more RBI in the seventh to bring around the Golden Flashes' final run of the game. The Bobcats sealed the game with a grand slam in the seventh. Sophomore Madison Hershberger leads Kent State with a .350 average and 21 hits with 14 runs scored. Sophomore Jessica LeBeau has a 3.37 ERA in 83.0 innings pitched including a team-high 109 strikeouts.
Weekend Promotions
UT will head over to South Bend, Ind. for its final non-conference game of the season to face Notre Dame on Tuesday, April 26. The Rockets and Fighting Irish will take the field of Melissa Cook Stadium at 5:00 p.m. A day later (Wednesday, April 27), Toledo will play a makeup game at. Akron at Lee R. Jackson Field beginning at 3:00 p.m.

Last Time Out
- Toledo dropped its series vs. Central Michigan in Mount Pleasant earlier this week.
- Senior Aubrey Reed hit a three-run homer in  Tuesday's game but the Rockets fell, 11-4.
- In Wednesday's doubleheader, Reed cranked out three hits, including her fifth homer of the season, and an RBI to lead the Rockets. Sophomore Jenna Kroll added two hits, including her sixth home run of the season and two RBIs.
- Senior Dayna Denner's home run vs. Akron (April 10) was the 24th of her career, tying the team record held by Kaitlyn Bergman (2014-18).
- Kroll's home run in Wednesday's first game vs. Central Michigan was the 11th of her career, moving her into a tie for 10th place with Brooke Gates (2009-12) on UT's all-time list.
- Denner's walk vs. Central Michigan bumped her into seventh place on the Toledo career all-time walk list with 59.
- Both Reed and Denner are on the career top-10 list for being hit by a pitch. Reed has six HPs this season and is sixth all-time with 16. Denner has been nicked seven times this season and is tied for eighth all-time with 14.

Weekend Promotions
- Glass City Marathon – The city of Toledo's 45th Annual Glass City Marathon will take place Saturday-Sunday, April 23-24. Be aware of road closures and detours in and around Main Campus.
- Senior Day – Toledo seniors will be recognized on the field along with their parents prior to the first pitch on Saturday's doubleheader.
- Bark in the Park – Dogs and their owners get in FREE to Saturday's doubleheader. There will be a dog parade on their field in between Game One and Game Two with an award going to the "best dressed" dog.
- Kids & Campers Day – Admission is $1 for kids on Sunday, with inflatables and yard games at Scott Park.
