BUFFALO, N.Y. – Sophomore Cassie Alcala clinched the match point for Toledo in a 4-3 win over Buffalo on Friday afternoon in Buffalo, N.Y. With the victory, the Rockets improved to 13-4, 3-1 in MAC play.
Toledo trailed early after Buffalo won the doubles point thanks to victories on the No. 1 and No. 3 courts. Junior Sloane Teske tied the match 1-1 with a two-set victory on the No. 2 singles court. The Bulls picked up a victory on the No. 3 court before senior Eileen Carney and sophomore Shalini Tallamraju won on the No. 6 and No. 4 courts. "This was a huge MAC win," head coach Tracy Mauntler said. "Buffalo is so tough to play indoors at home. I am so proud of this squad and how they handled the pressure heading into singles competition."
