TOLEDO, Ohio – The University of Toledo men's tennis is back on the court this weekend for two non-conferences dual matches with Marquette and Illinois State in Milwaukee, Wisc.
The Rockets (1-4) will take the court with the Golden Eagles on Friday, Feb. 18 at 5:00 p.m. (CT), and the Redbirds on Saturday, Feb. 19 at 12:00 p.m. (CT) in the Helfear Tennis and Recreation Center.
"We've had very solid training sessions since our last match," head coach Al Wermer said. "These guys are committed to our goals, and they're very focused on daily growth."
LAST TIME ON THE COURT
Toledo's last match was a 4-3 defeat to Wayne State at home on Feb. 9. The Rockets swept the courts in doubles competition to win the team point, but the Warriors took four of the singles courts for the match win. Both sophomore Pawit Sornlaksup and junior Krzysztof Wetoszka went undefeated in singles and doubles competition vs. Wayne State. Sornlaksup's singles win on the No. 1 court over Dom Spicer (6-2, 6-1) was his third straight win this season.

Marquette (2-5) is coming off its third straight loss this season, its most recent defeat a non-conference home match with Omaha on Feb. 13. The Mavericks' started off to an early lead with the doubles team point and followed with four singles courts victories to secure the win to take home the 5-2 match win over the Golden Eagles.
ABOUT ILLINOIS STATE
Illinois State (2-8) broke its eight-match losing streak and is coming into the weekend with back-to-back wins in the span of three days. The Redbirds defeated in-state foes Chicago State (Feb. 9) and Eastern Illinois (Feb. 11) in 7-0 sweeps.
