TOLEDO, Ohio – Sophomore kicker Luke Pawlak was voted "Ironman of the Game" following his performance in Toledo's 27-24 win at Eastern Michigan last Saturday.

Pawlak made his Rocket debut on Saturday, connecting on both of his field goal attempts and making all three extra points. His first kick of the game, a 27-yarder in the second quarter, got Toledo on the scoreboard. His second kick, from 44 yards out, sailed through the uprights and cut the deficit to four, putting the Rockets in a position to take the lead on a 12-play scoring drive later in the quarter.

Pawlak had two other key fourth quarter plays that helped Toledo win on Saturday. Following the go-ahead scoring drive with less than three minutes to play, he booted the ensuing kickoff into the end zone for a touchback, eliminating any possibility of an EMU return. Then, on the Rockets' final offensive drive, his pooch punt on fourth-and-eight pinned the Eagles at their own 12-yard line. The UT defense would force a turnover four plays later to ice the game.

Rocket fans can vote online each week throughout the football season for the Iron Workers Local Union No. 55 "Ironman of the Game." To vote, check out the Rockets on Twitter after each game and select who you think should be the Ironman of the Game. We ask that fans only vote once per game.
