TOLEDO, Ohio – The Toledo women's tennis team collected nine wins in the final day of its Indoor Rocket Invite vs. Youngstown State and Bowling Green on Saturday afternoon. The Rockets swept all eight matches vs. the Penguins and split their doubles matches against the Falcons.

The Rockets compiled a 21-2 record during the two days of competition and only lost one singles and one doubles match.

"I am pleased with our performance which wraps up our fall competition," head coach Tracy Mauntler said. "Only losing two matches the entire weekend speaks to the competitiveness of the squad. They really are relentless."

Toledo started the day with a three-match sweep against Youngstown State in doubles play . Against Bowling Green, junior Cassie Alcala and senior Sloane Teske dropped a close match to Ioanna Tsardi and Eloise Saraty, while seniors Laura Morera and Mariona Perez picked up a win over Lucy Furness and Maru Poppe.

The Rockets took off in singles play against the Penguins, picking up two-set victories from Alcala, Teske, junior Shalini Tallamraju, and Perez. Morera won her first set, fell behind in the second set, but finished the match strong with a 10-7 decision for the match.

Toledo will open the spring portion of its season on Friday, Jan. 14 vs. Army West Point at Twos Athletic Club.
