TOLEDO, Ohio – The Toledo women's volleyball team (13-6, 6-2 MAC) hosts Ball State (14-6, 6-2 MAC) on Wednesday night in a battle of the top two teams in the MAC West Division.
Wednesday's match will start at 6:00 p.m. in Savage Arena and be streamed live on ESPN+.
The Rockets and Cardinals enter the match tied for first place in the MAC West Division, with the winner taking sole possession of the top spot entering this upcoming weekend.
Following Wednesday's match, Toledo returns to the court to host Northern Illinois (13-6, 6-3 MAC) on Friday and Saturday.
Last Time Out
Toledo visited Western Michigan last weekend and came away with a series split.
Taylor Alt collected her 1,000th career kill on Friday, reaching that milestone in Toledo's three-set loss at Western Michigan. Unfortunately it was not enough to overcome a balanced WMU offensive attack that saw four different players tally at least nine kills. The Broncos won the first two sets by identical 25-22 margins before handing the Rockets (12-6, 5-2 MAC) a 25-16 defeat in the third and final set.
The Rockets avenged Friday's loss by hitting .293 to win Saturday's contest to win in four sets.
Taylor Alt led the Rockets with 21 terminations and hit .349 while adding 11 digs, her fifth double-double of the year.
Sina Uluave contributed 12 kills and 12 digs while
Ryann Jaqua (14 digs) and
Claire Eiden (12 digs) cracked double digits in digs as well.
Rhyenne Filisi had a productive match, collecting nine kills and seven blocks, and
Payton Morman paced the offense with 46 assists.
