Toledo, Ohio – Toledo faces one its toughest challenges of the season when it travels to South Bend, Ind. on Saturday, Sept. 11 to take on the No. 7 Notre Dame Fighting Irish (2:30 p.m./Peacock).Â
   The Rockets are coming off a convincing 49-10 victory over Norfolk State in the Glass Bowl on Sept. 4. Toledo used all three phases of the game to win its season opener.
   The Rockets' special teams set the tone with two touchdowns off blocked punts, while the defense held the Spartans in check all night. Norfolk State managed just 272 yards of total offense and was held to 5-of-15 on third down plays.
   Toledo's offense was balanced and efficient, racking up 205 rushing yards and 236 passing yards. Sophomore quarterback

Maxen Hook made a big impact on special teams, scooping up a blocked punt for a 25-yard score and then blocking a punt that was returned for a TD by
Jacquez Stuart.
   Notre Dame (#7 coaches poll/#9 AP) opened the season with a 41-38 overtime victory at Florida State Sunday night.

   •    Toledo's quarterbacks combined for 13-of-17 passing for 236 yards vs. Norfolk State. Sophomore

   • Toledo's special teams blocked two punts that were returned for touchdowns, and also recovered a fumble on a kickoff. It was the first time in school history that Toledo scored on two blocked punts. Freshman

Bryant Koback rushed for 52 yards and two TDs on nine attempts vs. Norfolk State. He now has 2,678 career rushing yards. He needs 42 yards to pass Casey McBeth (2,719 yards from 1991-94) to move into eighth place on Toledo's all-time list.Â
