TOLEDO, Ohio - A pair of Toledo defensive backs were named today to the watch list for the 2022 Reese's Senior Bowl. Senior cornerback
Samuel Womack and senior safety
Tycen Anderson were named as potential participants in the annual all-star game to be played on Feb. 5, 2022 in Mobile, Ala. The game will be broadcast on the NFL Network. Practices will be carried live on ESPN, and the NFL Network will host a daily recap show each evening in primetime.
Womack was a preseason All-MAC selection by Athlon and Phil Steele magazines, and is on the preseason watch list for the Jim Thorpe Award, which honors the nation's top defensive back. He has led the Mid-American Conference in pass breakups in each of the past two seasons, and finished second in the country with 15 PBUs in 2019.
Anderson earned second-team All-MAC honors in 2020. He was a preseason All-MAC selection by Athlon and Phil Steele magazines, and joins Womack on the watch list for the Jim Thorpe Award.
The Reese's Senior Bowl annually serves as a preview of the NFL Draft. A total of 106 players selected in last year's game were taken in the 2021 draft, including 36 chosen in the first three rounds. The 106 figure represents 41% of all the players taken in the draft.Â
