Toledo Heads to Virginia Tech for Three Games

 TOLEDO, Ohio – The University of Toledo baseball team will take a break from Mid-American Conference play this weekend when it visits ACC foe Virginia Tech for three games.

The series kicks off in Blacksburg with a doubleheader on Saturday beginning at 2:00 p.m. and will conclude with a 2:00 game on Sunday. All three games will be available on ACC Network Extra via the ESPN app. Fans intending to watch any of the games must have a cable package that offers the ACC Network and authenticate their cable account through the ESPN app to watch this weekend's contests. Fans can also follow along on Twitter at @ToledoBaseball.
Last Time Out
The Rockets dropped a Tuesday contest at Eastern Michigan, 13-2. EMU tagged UT for 12 runs in the bottom of the first inning, which proved to be enough in the midweek MAC contest.

Last weekend, Toledo split its series vs. Western Michigan at Scott Park, with both teams combing for 96 runs and 19 home runs in the four games.

Toledo, Bowling Green to Play at Fifth Third Field
The baseball programs at the University of Toledo and Bowling Green State University have announced that they will play at Fifth Third Field, home of the Toledo Mud Hens, on Friday, May 14 at 7:00 p.m. The contest is the first in a planned annual game between the Rockets and Falcons played in Downtown Toledo.
General admission tickets are available for $8.00 and special student-priced tickets are available for $5.00 with the use of a promo code. Virginia Tech enters the weekend with a record of 24-17 and a 16-14 mark in league play. The Hokies hosted Georgetown for a midweek game on Wednesday, winning 6-2, after dropping two out of three to Virginia at home last weekend. They are led at the plate by Gavin Cross, who is hitting .381 with 10 home runs, 33 RBIs, and is slugging .694. The Hokies' pitching staff is one of the best in the nation at striking out opposing hitters; their 10.9 K/9 ratio is 10th in the country, with 440 punchouts in 362 innings.
