5/3/2021 3:18:00 PM

TOLEDO, Ohio – The University of Toledo baseball team heads to Eastern Michigan on Tuesday for a 6:00 p.m. contest against the Eagles.

This will be the first of four makeup games between the Rockets and EMU, who had their weekend series that was originally scheduled for April 23-25 postponed.

Last Time Out
Toledo split a weekend series vs. Western Michigan at Scott Park, with both teams combing for 96 runs and 19 home runs in the four games.

After a strong offensive showing in a 16-13 win on Friday, the Broncos' offense once again stole the show in game one on Saturday, scoring 15 runs and collecting 17 hits in seven innings. Game two looked to be following a similar script, as WMU took a 7-0 lead early, but Toledo was able to come all the way back and win. The Rockets scored four runs in the third and six runs in the fourth to take the lead and then stave off a late WMU rally.

Western Michigan took an early 5-0 lead on Sunday, but Toledo used a six-run bottom of the fifth to grab its first advantage of the day. The Rockets held the Broncos scoreless from the fifth inning on, and scored five more insurance runs to earn a series split.

  • Chris Meyers leads the MAC in home runs (13), RBIs (41), batting average (.385), slugging percentage (.800), on-base percentage (.515) and hits (50). He is second in runs scored (39) and doubles (13).
  • Meyers ranks fourth in the nation in slugging percentage and he is tied for 12th in home runs.
  • As a team, Toledo leads the MAC in home runs (50) and slugging (.477). No other team in the league has more than 33 home runs.
  • Scott Mackiewicz has homered in three straight games, including a go-ahead grand slam in Sunday's victory over WMU.
  • Toledo is 10-0 this season when leading after six innings.
