Toledo, EMU Set for Tuesday Doubleheader

TOLEDO, Ohio – The University of Toledo baseball team heads to Eastern Michigan on Tuesday for a seven-inning doubleheader that will begin at 3:00 p.m.
This will be the second straight Tuesday that the Rockets and Eagles will face off after their weekend series originally scheduled for April 23-25 was postponed. EMU defeated Toledo last Tuesday, 13-2.
Last Time Out
Toledo took a break from Mid-American Conference play over the weekend to visit Virginia Tech.The Hokies took both games of Saturday's doubleheader, though the second contest wasn't decided until the final at-bat. Kyle Jones was excellent for the Rockets in that game, throwing a career-high eight innings and tying a career best with 10 strikeouts, carrying a lead into the eighth inning against the Hokies. Jones held Virginia Tech scoreless through the first six frames while allowing just three hits, and he faced just one batter above the minimum through five innings. The Hokies also won Sunday's single game to sweep the series.

Chris Meyers has 13 home runs entering Tuesday's games at EMU, three away from breaking the single-season record of 15, held by Ross Adolph (2018) and Mike Ernst (2000) and he has 15 games to get there.

The baseball programs at the University of Toledo and Bowling Green State University have announced that they will play at Fifth Third Field, home of the Toledo Mud Hens, on Friday, May 14 at 7:00 p.m. The contest is the first in a planned annual game between the Rockets and Falcons played in Downtown Toledo.
General admission tickets are available for $8.00 and special student-priced tickets are available for $5.00 with the use of a promo code. Eastern Michigan will carry a seven-game winning streak into Tuesday's doubleheader after sweeping Bowling Green this past weekend. The wins lifted EMU's overall record to 17-19 and 11-14 in conference play. Gabe Denton has led the way at the plate during his team's winning streak, hitting five home runs and tallying 15 RBIs in his last seven games.
