BUFFALO, N.Y. - Sophomore
Riley Mohr drove in seven runs and sophomore
Macey Moore went 5-for-6 at the plate to propel the Toledo softball team (13-9, 3-3 MAC) to a pair of 10-2 run-rule victories over Buffalo (4-15, 2-4 MAC) on Saturday afternoon at Nan Harvey Field.
Â
The Rockets pounded out 20 hits on the day with junior
Anna Dixon (3-for-6, 3 RBI) joining Mohr and Moore with three or more hits during the doubleheader sweep.
Â
"I thought we had great at-bats and put pressure on them all day," Head Coach
Joe Abraham said. "We had a ton of good takes, clutch hits and some very good catches in the outfield."
Â
Senior
Erin Hunt (9-6) started both games in the circle for Toledo and allowed just five hits over 11 innings.
Â
"Erin struggled in the first inning of both games but got into a groove after that," Abraham said. "It was good having Erin pitch the way she did, and I really liked how we came out focused and loose which is how you want to be."
Â
The two teams will close out the weekend series tomorrow weather permitting with a doubleheader set to begin at noon.
