3/11/2021 11:06:00 AM

TOLEDO, Ohio – The University of Toledo women's volleyball team returns home to host Central Michigan this weekend. The Rockets and Chippewas will play on Friday night at 7:00 p.m. and Saturday at 3:00 p.m. Friday's match will be available on ESPN3 while Saturday's action can be seen on ESPN+.

Last Time Out

Toledo visited Miami on Tuesday night, falling to the RedHawks in three sets.

The Rockets led late in both the first and third sets, but they were unable to fend off late RedHawk rallies in Tuesday's loss. Sophomore Olivia Vance had an excellent night defensively, tallying a career-high 10 blocks. Freshman Taylor Alt had a team-high nine kills and fellow rookie Payton Morman added 23 assists. Senior Chloee Kleespies and sophomore Rhyenne Filisi added three blocks apiece. As a team, Toledo registered 13 total blocks.

Quick Hits
  • Olivia Vance's 10 blocks on Tuesday night were the most by a Rocket since Rachel Vidourek had 10 blocks against Ohio in 2017.
  • Toledo ranks atop the MAC and 26th in the country in blocks, averaging 2.65/set. Olivia Vance is first in the conference in that category (1.31/set).
  • The Rockets have three of the five highest single-match block totals by a MAC team this year: 20 vs. WMU (Jan. 22), 14 at NIU (Jan. 28), and 14 vs. Ball State (Feb. 5).
  • Toledo has two freshmen that rank inside the top five in kills and assists in the MAC. Taylor Alt (3.74 kills/set) and Payton Morman (10.36 assists/set) both sit fifth in their respective statistical categories.
  • Alt has reached double digit kills in all but two of her the matches she has appeared in this year.
  • It's been an "all or nothing" kind of year for the Rockets, as seven of their matches have ended in three sets and four have gone five sets.
