TOLEDO, Ohio – The Toledo women's golf team opens its 2021 season next week at the Mid-American Challenge in Lakewood Ranch, Fla. The Rockets will play 36 holes on Monday, Feb. 8 before finishing the tournament with 18 holes on Tuesday, Feb. 9 at the par-72, 6,068-yard Royal Lakes Golf Course.
The Rockets will be joined in the 11-team field by six Mid-American Conference programs – Akron, Ball State, Bowling Green, Central Michigan, Northern Illinois and Ohio – as well as Florida Gulf Coast, Illinois State, Morehead State and Western Illinois.
"We're thrilled to begin our journey at the Mid-American Challenge in Florida," Head Coach
Jenny Coluccio said. "The opportunity to come together and compete with a common goal has been something we've been waiting for. We're going to be seeing a lot of other conference schools in the field so that will give us a good idea of where we stand in the MAC."
Toledo's lineup for its season-opening tournament will include sophomore
Amelia Lee along with freshmen
Macy Hanus,
Kait Natividad,
Angel Hii and
Cheryl Hong. Sophomore
Kathryn Roth will be competing as an individual.
