TOLEDO, Ohio – Toledo (7-3, 3-3 MAC) will look to extend its winning streak against arch-rival Bowling Green (8-3, 4-2 MAC) on Saturday, Jan. 16. The opening tip against the Falcons is slated for 2:00 p.m. in Savage Arena and will be shown on ESPN+.
The Rockets have won the last eight meetings vs. the Falcons, outscoring them by 13.0 ppg (74.0-61.0) during this unbeaten stretch. A year ago, Toledo claimed a 79-72 overtime win against BGSU at home (Jan. 18). The Rockets' most recently loss in the series occurred on Feb. 2, 2014, a span of 2,540 days.Â
Toledo and Bowling Green will meet for the first of two matchups during the regular season and 81st overall. The Rockets will travel to Wood County on Saturday, Jan. 30 at Noon in the Stroh Center.Â
Tomorrow's contest will showcase two of the Mid-American Conference's most efficient offenses. The Rockets are currently fourth in the league in turnover margin (+2.90, 14.00-16.90), miscues (14.00 tpg) and assist/turnover ratio (0.95, 13.30-14.00) and sixth in helpers (13.30 apg), while the Falcons are first (+7.55, 13.45-21.00), third (13.45 tpg), second (0.99, 13.36-13.45) and fifth (13.36 apg) in the same categories, respectively.
Toledo is coming off a hard fought 61-54 home victory against Western Michigan on Wednesday. The Rockets used a late 8-0 run to shoot down the Broncos and end a mini two-game losing skid.

Lockett paced Toledo with a game-high 23 points, to go along with a contest-best three steals. Wiard added nine points, eight rebounds and a collegiate-best seven assists, while freshman
Khera Goss had nine points. The Rockets also received seven points and a game-high 11 boards from freshman
Sammi Mikonowicz to improve to 6-1 at home this year.
Through the first 10 contests, Toledo continues to be paced offensively by the quintet of Lockett, Wiard, Mikonowicz, Goss and sophomore
Mali Morgan-Elliott, who account for a whopping 83.7 percent (583 of 696 points) of the team's scoring.
Toledo will face a Bowling Green squad which has dropped back-to-back games for the first time this year. Most recently, the Falcons sustained an 82-74 road loss against Buffalo (8-3, 5-1 MAC) on Wednesday. The Bulls broke open a close contest by outscoring BGSU 24-15 in the third quarter. Kadie Hempfling paced Bowling Green with 20 points, followed closely by Lexi Fleming with 18.

BGSU, which is 4-2 away from home in 2020-21, features a balanced offense with five players contributing at least 8.5 points led by Fleming at 19.6 ppg.Â
Following tomorrow's contest, the Rockets will travel to MAC frontrunner Kent State (5-2, 4-0 MAC) on Wednesday, Jan. 20. The opening tip vs. the Golden Flashes is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. in the M.A.C. Center. Toledo and Kent St. will meet for the second time this season. The Rockets suffered a 61-57 home loss against the Golden Flashes on Dec. 13.Â
