How it happened
- The Jackrabbits took an early lead, putting up five runs in the top of the first inning. Cylie Halvorson knocked a three-run homer over the left field fence to take a 3-0 lead. Three batters later, Chiara Bassi doubled to left field, bringing home two more runs.
- SDSU added another run in the top of the second, as Kelsey Lennox hit a one-run single to left center, bringing home Olivia Pfeifer.
- The Jackrabbits added one more run in the top of the fifth, as Allison Beaudry hit a solo home run over the center field fence.
- Paaverud cut into SDSU's lead in the bottom of the sixth, belting a three-run home run to bring the Rockets within four, 7-3.
- Daughtery added an insurance run in the top of the seventh with an RBI single up the right side.
- The Rockets loaded the bases in the bottom of the seventh but were unale to capitalize.
