TOLEDO, Ohio - The University of Toledo men's tennis team closes out their February stretch of home matches with a 1:00 p.m. battle against Boston University on Friday at Shadow Valley Tennis Club.Â

Admission to the match is free. There will be free Barry's Bagels for fans. Throughout the season fans are welcome to join the men's tennis team's fight against cancer in memory of
Luis Kleinschnitz's mother and can donate to the cause here.

On Sunday, the Midnight Blue and Gold fought through an evening match against Wayne State, defeating the Warriors, 5-2, preserving their undefeated home record. Vukotic/Zupancic earned the Rockets' sole win on the doubles court with a 6-3 win on court No. 1, but Toledo made up for it in singles action. Vukotic, Wetoszka, and Shoults posted two-set wins from the No. 1, No. 2, and No. 3 courts, respectively. Kleinschnitz and Zupancic wore away at their opponents, fighting through three-set battles on the No. 5 and No. 6 courts. Kleinschnitz topped Dom Spicer 3-6, 6-4, 6-2, while Zupancic shut out David Solar 3-6, 6-4, 6-3. Â

Scouting Boston University
Boston University is 3-5 (0-0 Patriot League). The Terriers edged out Sacred Heart 4-3, defeated Merrimack 5-2, and swept MIT 7-0. BU's losses come at the hands of Ivy League contenders Yale, Dartmouth and No. 14 Harvard as well as Big East foe St. John's, and NEC opponent Bryant.Â

Junior David Bogatin leads the Terriers, posting a 5-3 (0-0 Patriot League) record in dual match singles, primarily from the No. 1 court. Following Bogatin is sophomore Max Hartenstein and junior Owen Lu, who both have 4-2 (0-0 Patriot League) records. Hartenstein splits his time between the No. 3 and No. 4 courts while Lu occupies the No. 2 court. In doubles play freshman Kirill Belov/Hartenstein have a 3-3 (0-0 Patriot League) record from the No. 2 court.Â

Last season the Terriers went 9-16 (3-4 Patriot League). BU tallied sweeps against Siena, Holy Cross, Lafayette, and Colgate. In the Patriot League Tournament, No. 5 seeded Boston University defeated No. 4 seeded Bucknell 4-2 in the quarterfinals. BU, seeking its first appearance in the Patriot League Tournament final, clashed against No. 1 seeded and defending champions, Navy, in the semifinals. The Terriers fell short in the semifinals, only posting one point against the Midshipmen for a final of 4-1.
