BOWLING GREEN, Ohio - The Toledo women's tennis team closed out competition at the Bowling Green Invitational in Bowling Green, Ohio on Saturday, with sophomore Christina Fuller and freshman Laura Morera going undefeated in their respective singles draws and Fuller/freshman Sloane Teske winning their doubles draw. 
 
"Christina Fuller seems to be picking up right where she left off last season. She won three gritty three-set matches to take the Freddie Falcon draw final." said head coach Tracy Mauntler. 
 
Fuller had a commanding presence on the court, clinching the title in the Freddie Falcon bracket after fighting through two three-set thrillers, posting wins over Oakland's Aarja Chakraborty (6-1, 4-6, 6-0) and Samantha Galloway (6-3, 3-6, 6-4). The Newburgh, Ind. native holds a 12-match win streak at the Keefe Courts, spanning from last season's Bowling Green Invitational.
 
"I was impressed by Laura Morera going undefeated in her first collegiate event," said Mauntler. "Laura has all the tools and will continue to improve every time she competes."
 
Morera excelled in the Freida Falcon bracket, notching wins against NIU's Lara Slisko (6-1, 6-4), and Findlay's Madison Arquette (6-3, 6-4). 
 
Freshman Sloane Teske continued her run in the brown draw bracket, taking down Oakland's Nirva Patel, 6-4, 6-3. 
 
"We are doing a lot of experimenting with doubles because we graduated three key doubles players last year," added Mauntler. "Fuller and Sloane worked well together and brought the energy this weekend." 
 
In the Fight doubles draw, Teske/Fuller racked up wins against Tiffin's Dominique Matich-Reyonlds and BGSU's Ioanna Tsadari (6-2), as well as Tiffin's Chelsea Dzenga/Nirva Patel (6-2). 

Senior Dee Dee Leenabanchong and junior Patrica Panta resumed their match with Victoria Kurz/Ava Thielman, defeating the pair from Oakland 6-4. The match had been called Friday afternoon due to lightning with Leenabanchong/Panta leading 5-4. 
 
Carney/Morera worked their way through the Grit back draw bracket, posting a 6-1 win against Oberlin's Alandria Bellamy/Isabelle Olaes, and 6-0 sweeps of Tiffin's Abbie-Jade Riley/Emily Sim and Findlay's Madison Arquette/Luciana Pereyra.
