How it happened
- Toledo looked to start strong in the first inning as senior Megan Choate singled through the right side and fellow fourth-year Katie Cozy took one to the body. Both runners were left on the bags though as the Bobcats dealt away the side.
- The Rockets then found themselves in a jam in the bottom of the opening frame as the first seven Bobcats found their way to first base thanks to three singles, three walks, and a fielder's choice. Ohio's offensive might and patience at the plate resulted in the Hunter Green and White leading 4-0 after one inning of play.
- Ohio added two more runs in the second thanks to a pair of singles, followed by a walk, and an RBI single. With the bases loaded, Mackenzie Brunswick was hit by a pitch to bring in another run to make it 6-0 Ohio.
- Madi McCrady walked for the Rockets to lead off the third but two pop ups and a groundout kept Toledo from rallying.
- Toledo was finally able to put a run up in the fourth thanks to Golden who stepped up with two outs on the board and hit her third dinger of the season, cutting the lead to 6-1.
- The closest Toledo would get to scoring again wouldn't be until the seventh inning. Ill opened the final frame with a single to center, and gained an extra base on an error from the center fielder. Sophomore Kylie Norwood struck out next but a sac bunt from Choate moved Ill to third. Senior Katie Cozy then walked to put runners in the corners but a final strikeout closed out the game.
