Last Time Out
The Rockets hosted Northern Illinois this past weekend and dropped two out of three contests to the Huskies.

In Toledo's victory on Friday, the Rockets scored twice in the bottom of the first to take an early lead. After NIU scored runs in the fifth, sixth, and seventh to pull ahead, Chris Meyers tied the game at 4-4 with his sixth home run of the season, a two-run shot. With two runners on base, sophomore Drew Compton lined a single into the gap that scored Zach Schwartzenberger to put the Rockets out in front for good, 5-4.

Toledo lost game one, 3-2, before falling in game two by a score of 4-0. The Rockets held a 2-1 lead in the first contest, but NIU scored runs in the seventh and ninth to come out on top. The second game was a pitcher's duel for the first five innings, with the teams combining for just four hits. The Huskies plated three runs in the sixth though and one more in the eighth to clinch the series over the Midnight Blue and Gold.

Rocket Notes
  • Zach Schwartzenberger leads the team in hitting over the last 20 games (.315) and his eight extra-base hits are tied for second-most during that stretch behind Chris Meyers (12).
  • Kyle Jones has held opponents to a .246 batting average with runners on base, the lowest of any pitcher on the staff.
  • The Rockets are one of three MAC teams to have at least 30 home runs this season.
  • Toledo is 7-3 in its last 10 meetings with Purdue Fort Wayne
