Ann Arbor, Mich.— The Toledo baseball team dropped its midweek contest against the Michigan Wolverines on Wednesday by a score of 8-2.

Sophomore John Servello and freshman Darryn Davis both tallied three hits on the afternoon, while senior Riley Campbell added two and also drove in a run. The Rockets threw nine pitchers on Wednesday, with starter Doug Smith going the longest at 1.2 innings.

Toledo will host Miami this weekend for a three-game Mid-American Conference series at Scott Park.

How it Happened

Michigan scored the first run of the game with an RBI single in the bottom of the second. The leadoff hitter of the inning reached on a base hit and later scored on the run-scoring hit through the left side to put UT behind, 1-0.
Davis drove in a run in the top of the third to tie the game at 1-1. After a successful sacrifice bunt put runners on second and third, Davis tied the game with a productive RBI groundout.
The Wolverines retook the lead in the bottom of the third with a leadoff home run to left field.
Michigan plated three runs in the bottom of the fourth to take a 5-1 advantage. A wild pitch, sacrifice fly, and RBI single did the damage in that inning for UM.
Three more runs came in to score in the bottom of the fifth, putting Toledo behind 8-1. All three runs that inning were scored with two outs.
Campbell drove in a run in the top of the sixth to make the score 8-2. Davis singled to lead off the inning, advanced to second on a passed ball, then came around to score on Campbell's base hit up the middle.
