The Rockets trailed 8-1 at one point at Dayton after a six-run third inning from the Flyers, but chipped away at UD's lead until scoring five runs in the final two innings to complete the comeback. With a runner on first in the top of the ninth, sophomore Trace Hatfield launched a two-run home run to left field that gave the Rockets their first lead since the second inning.
Against Michigan State, Toledo held a lead entering the bottom of the fourth, but surrendered two runs in that inning and two in the fifth to fall behind and weren't able to recover. Of the four runs scored by the Spartans, three touched home due to UT wild pitches.
